BRING OUT YOUR DEAD…

Cause I just KILLED that test!  HAHA!

Wednesday I took my Practical exam on hair color – which I scored 10/10 on everything!  YAY ME!   We did a full head practical on our mannekin (I used Kimmie2 with the purple hair) to do a color retouch.

A retouch is done from the base (as close to scalp as possible without being on the scalp) to the end of the new growth only.  Since Kimmie2 doesn’t grow hair, we just assumed it was about 1/2 an inch.  We used Cholesterol instead of actual color, which was awesome since i didn’t really want to change her hair color…lol.  BUT, it did make me sad because I had to wash out all of her lovely curls…

Our substitute that we had the other night was back to oversee our exams.   We were all a little weary of having a sub administer our test (no offense to her) so one of our daytime instructors who we were more familiar with stayed late to make us a bit more comfortable.

After we did the full head of re-touch, we shampooed x2, conditioned x1, and towel-dried her.  We were supposed to thermal style her, but because of time constraints, we were allowed to thoroughly towel dry her and then begin on part 2 of out practical – Virgin Application for Lighter Results.  This is performed by going mid-strand to porous ends, then the base, then the ends.  After which, we shampooed x2, conditioned x1, and then thermal styled.  We were also given the option to then either restyle her for another styling credit, or retire to the classroom to study for the written exam on Thursday.

I chose to help the other girls study.  Mostly because my back is acting up for some reason, (i think i’ve been jumping for joy in my sleep, waiting for my Urban Decay palette to come in)…

So then last night, we took our written exam.  it consisted of 30-something questions and literally took me less than 3 minutes to complete.

i love multiple choice tests…lol.

After our test we were allowed to perform services on each other.  I brought part of my makeup kit (too bad I couldn’t bring it all – turns out I left all the “good stuff” back at the house…lol)  to class in anticipation of this and proceeded to doll up one of our classmates – Isn’t she lovely?

Hot Stuff!

She said she didn’t care what we put on her, so we chose some bright colors for her eyes.  I used a Mary Kay full-coverage foundation in Bronze 500 to even out her skin tone.  I started with her lips which I lined with a Mary Kay Cappuccino liner, and since she doesn’t like lipstick, we opted to blend the liner with a Black Radiance lip gloss in Blackberry Ice, and then used MAC blush in Melba, Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion (which NO makeup kit should EVER be without), Mary Kay Mineral Eyeshadow in Lemongrass and in the crease I used a Melon Pigment, and to highlight I used another mineral shade by Mary Kay in Moonstone.  I lined her eyes using the Perfectly Portable Liquid Liner from Avon in Blackest Black and applied Too-Faced Lash Injection Mascara to her already incredibly long lashes.

So Pretty!

She was HOT!  then I proceeded to snap a few pics of the other students performing various services:

so fresh so clean
